Beaches
Rossnowlagh, Donegal (about 1 hour)
N of Ballyshannon, take the A46 out of Enniskillen
Rossnowlagh is a beautiful stretch of sandy beach and there is a good pub for lunch up on the cliffs. The drive from Enniskillen takes in beautiful views of Lough Erne and passes through Belleek famous for its pottery. Also on the way is Tully Castle and Gardens on the banks of the Erne, worth a visit.

Rosses Point, Sligo (about an 1hr 15mins)
N of Sligo town,take the A4 out of Enniskillen
Huge sandy beach. The drive from Enniskillen takes in the dramatic scenery of the Dartry Mountains. Glencar Waterfall is worth a stop on the way. There is a Radisson Hotel near Rosses Point that does good lunches/snacks.

Castle Archdale Forest Park - 45 Mins.
Take the A32 out of Enniskillen towards Omagh and turn onto the B82 to Kesh; Castle Arcdale signposted on left.
Pleasant walks along the banks of Lower Lough Erne, castle ruins, red deer.
Cavan County Museum - 45 minutes
At BallyJamesduff
Ulster American Folk Park - 1 Hour - Really worth a visit, and a great activity for the kids and adults too.
Near Omagh – A good day outing.
New Grange Co Meath - 1.5 Hr, where else can you walk into a amasing 5000 year old passage grave, truely facinating.
On the Banks of the Boyne River this historic burial mound dates back 5000 years. You can walk through an ancient tunnel into the centre of the mound and see the burial chamber – fascinating.

Coologe Lough
This is a walk from the log cabin to Coologe Lough and back via the same route and it takes about 1.5hrs.
Garadice Lough
Garadice Lough is about 15 mins drive away. There is a circular walk from the car park that takes you along the edge of the lough and then up past the church and back down to the car park. The Glenview Folk Museum is also nearby.
Slieve Russell, Ballyconnell
There is a pleasant 2 mile walk at the Slieve Russell Hotel which takes you around the periphery of the golf course. There is a nice lounge for teas/coffees in the hotel and the golf club does a good lunch (no children under 12 in the golf club).
Belturbet
This is a circular walk along by the banks of the river in Belturbet (about 15 minutes drive from the log cabin). You should park in the car park by the bridge in Belturbet and follow the path along by the river. This is a very pleasant stroll which takes you by the remains on the motte and bailey castle. The walk will take you about half an hour and there is also a pleasant picnic area.

Beautiful walks by Lough Erne, stunning views and extremely peaceful, castle ruins, nice café. Childrens playground.
Florence Court (National Trust)
Signposted off the A32 to Enniskillen
House and Gardens, also Forest Park for longer walks. Excellent views of surrounding mountains. Childrens adventure play area.
The Cladagh Glen
Past Florence Court towards Blacklion, signposted on the left
A nature reserve along the banks of the Cladagh river, which rises in the Marble Arch Cave. An hour long walk will take you to the Marble Arch Caves visitor centre.
Marble Arch Caves & Cuilcagh Mountain Park UNESCO Geopark
Amazing cave system and underground river. Entry by guided tour, access by boat.
Killykeen Forest Park
Near Killeshandra
Pleasant walks the around the lake.
Enniskillen Town and Devenish Island
Take a boat trip from Enniskillen (MV Kestrel) and visit the monastic ruins on Devenish Island.
Swan Island
Trekking centre and Childrens animal farm beside Garadice Lough. There is also a restaurant and a small childrens playground.
Cavan Burren
Megalithic tombs on the Cavan Way between Dowra and Blacklion.
